There is something exciting about diving a natural wreck with history behind it. The Empire Mica is a wreck with a lot of history attached to it. The tanker was sunk by a German U boat in June of 1942 on it’s way back to Britain with a cargo of kerosene. Gordon Steele’s grandfather was an engineer on the vessel and he set up a website to honor him and the other members of the crew. The website can be found here.

We are running a trip out to explore the Empire Mica Friday Sept25. Saturday we’ll be doing a 3 tank 8hr on some of the wrecks offshore including the the historic wreck of the USS Tarpon.
